The Goodwill Keystone Area was established when three individual Goodwill Industries locations joined together. Separate Goodwill Industries in Central Pennsylvania (based in Harrisburg), Mid-Eastern Pennsylvania (based in Reading) and Southeastern Pennsylvania (based in Lancaster) joined together in a belief that this would allow them to better serve the people of the state. This has been a great move that's allowed them to help even more people.
This fall, Goodwill Keystone will hold the Goodwill Runway Show: Secondhand Chic at The Designers' Place at Vanity Fair Outlets, in Reading, Pennsylvania. Contact Jennifer Schley at 717-525-6208 for more information. This is a very important event for the charity, but of course it is only a small part of what they do all across the state.
Using the items donated to them by members of the public, Goodwill Industries is able to generate revenue to fund programs to help with job training and job placement. As a side bonus, the donated items are always sold at low prices to people who don't have a lot of money to spend. This means that the donations help people in two different ways.
A good way to help Goodwill Keystone Area (or any of the other Goodwill Industries) is to donate your vehicle. A large donation like a car or truck will go a long way in helping them help others. Whether it's by selling the car at a reasonable price to someone who really needs transportation or selling the car at an auction to raise money for other programs, your used vehicle can help to make a big difference in someone's life.
You might not think that donating your car will really help people but the truth is it can. If you'd like to donate a vehicle to a Goodwill Industries in another state or county, you will be interested to know about Charity Dispatch. Charity Dispatch can make sure that your vehicle donation goes to the Goodwill charity of your choice, anywhere in the country.
