The financial crisis has affected all sectors of society. But charities are doing surprisingly well under the circumstances. In 2008, though they suffered a slump in donations compared to 2007 and previous years. Charities like The American Red Cross are now getting back on track after receiving generous support from donors. This is important because the work required of charities can be expect to double during financially difficult times. So just how is it that non-profit organizations can survive, and even thrive in these uncertain times? It is because of the increased focus on auto donation.
Charities have now changed strategy and are hoping to attract large donors such as businesses, rather than depending on small donors who are only able to donate very little. Often, during times of financial uncertainty, people are less likely to make a donation to charity, particularly in the form of an auto donation. However, last year charities received more vehicle donations than ever before, baffling financial analysts. This is because the charities employed a different tactic in the struggle for donations. They went out onto the street to speak to individuals personally and showed them how vehicle donation works.
By donating your car to charity you could save a lot of money in the long run. Many self-employed individuals see this as a great way to lower the amount of taxes they have to pay. Charities found that lots of people had at least one unused car around their home but were hesitating to sell them because of the tedious procedure and troublesome market. The charities have decided to capitalize on this and have now begun accepting the donation of much older cars, which they could sell as auto parts and scrap metal.
Charitable institutions are weathering the storm of the economic downturn and this is thanks to those people who donated their cars. Credit where credit is due. Thank you America.
