Everybody knows that tax laws are tough and by cheating the system you will find yourself in some serious trouble. The government shows little mercy to individuals or businesses who try to evade taxes and high profile figures are often openly discredited as a result of their dishonesty. However, while it is true that what the tax man says, goes, some organizations do have more freedom under tax laws than others.

Goodwill Industries and The American Red Cross are recognized non-profit organizations and operate with minimal government intervention. Because of this they get special tax exemptions, meaning that they are preferred by donors. Businesses often decide to make regular donations to charities as this will improve the company's image and create a happy feeling amongst its employees. Auto donation is an unusual way to donate but it does offer some advantages. Many people prefer to make vehicle donations and charities are always grateful to receive them too. In fact charities prefer to receive an auto donation, rather than receiving small sums of money over time.

So how does auto donation work? Firstly, a representative of the charity should arrive to pick up the car. This is one of the charity's ways of ensuring that they can process your donation quickly and efficiently. If you donate your car to Goodwill industries, there is a good chance that you will get more in the way of tax relief since your car will be sold for a higher value than it otherwise would. This is because people who buy from charities are likely to offer more than they would have otherwise. This is important because the more money the charity receives, the more of a reduction you can claim from your taxes. It's no small wonder that auto donations are so popular.
