The whole process of donating your car to charity opens up a lot of possibilities in the way that individuals donate to charities. Under this scheme cars that are donated to charities will be sold to achieve the highest possible price. The money from this sale is then used by the charity to help the needy. As well as helping the less fortunate you can also receive a helpful tax deduction by donating a car to major charities such as Goodwill Industries and The American Red Cross. Something that you may not know, however, is the fact that you will be entitled to the same tax exemptions as those gained by vehicle donation, based on the value of donated scrap metal.

The fact of the matter is that the price of scrap metal has remained steady but the price of vehicles has dropped because of the economic slide. Because of this it makes more sense for someone to donate his or her auto scrap parts instead of a used car. This idea is proving to be ideal for those with an old banger that has spent one too many years on bricks. If you are thinking of donating your car but are worried that its current market value is too low, this may be the ideal solution.

The fact remains there are several different methods to reduce taxes and be ahead of the game while the economy is headed south. Many people overlook some of the most effective ways to get these tax breaks, similar to the ones mentioned here, because they aren't looking. It is true that the price of scrap metal will never equal the price of a new car, or even a sparingly used car for that matter, but hey, you can get a surprising amount of money for an old wreck. The whole point of donating your car is to help those who are less fortunate than you, but if you can collect a little reward for doing so then why shouldn't you? This is win-win situation for everyone.
