The very essence of marketing takes root on the fact that you need to promote your business in order to attract customers. Without a marketing system in place, your business would have a very hard time accomplishing what you’ve set out to do when you were just starting your operations. Marketing is that important to your business growth. And without it, you might just lose opportunities that can lead to your business closing.
And most if not all expert marketers will tell you that in order for your business to shine, you need to find your niche. This means getting to know what you’re good at and letting people know about it.
But here’s the hard fact – niche marketing is actually not for everyone. You may promote and market the way the experts do, as well as everybody else. You might listen to what most marketers tell you how to effectively promote your business. You might even design and print notepads or your custom notepads just because you’ve seen everyone else doing it. But the thing is, it really doesn’t matter. It doesn’t really matter what you’re niche is or what particular industry you’re in. What matters most is you know how to grow your business. What’s important is how you use marketing strategies to help you keep going and growing.
You may be following what the experts and marketers have been telling everyone else for so long. You might find yourself going the normal route and doing all the strategies that have been put in place by all the businesses before you. And sure, you may be designing all the different custom notepads for every occasion and season. But the question is, do you enjoy what you’re doing? Are you comfortable with the same strategies that the others are using? And after accomplishing all the things that the experts advised, have you figured out your niche then?
If you have yet to find out your niche, and you’re literally getting miserable every time you start any of the marketing campaigns, then it’s time for you to stop what you’re doing. Instead, it’s time for you to do it your way.
So here’s the thing. Marketing is well and good. But you need to also be comfortable with your strategy. Don’t try to be what you’re not. If you can’t be comfortable with print notepads for example, then stop producing them. You’re only wasting your time, money and effort in doing so. The key is to create your own brand of marketing – something that you would be happy doing even if you keep at it for the rest of your business days.
The bottom line to successful marketing is to look for what is the more tangible strategy for you. This means looking for a marketing campaign that’s not only right for you, but what you would be most comfortable with. Instead of looking for your niche, ask yourself how you can tell your story and inspire others with it.
At the end of the day, it’s you who’s going to market anyway. So look for the best seat and make yourself comfortable.
