Choosing the best of camping gear can be a tiresome task and storing it safely is a serious endeavour. Once you have bought the right set of camping equipment, the next thing you need to do is to make sure that it is stored properly so that every time you go for a camping trip, you can use it over and over again. Camping equipment is quite expensive as most of the gear and tools that are required while camping are expensive. So after buying your expensive camping gear, you need to make sure that your investment does not get wasted. Here are some tips that can help you store your camping equipment like camping tents, stoves, chairs etc properly.

Tips for storing your camping tents and sleeping bags.

1. Check the interior and exterior surfaces of the tent and sleeping bag before packing them to make sure they are completely dry inside and out. Moisture can lead to the growth of mould in your tent and produce a bad odour that is quite unbearable and difficult to get rid of.

2. Make sure that the place where you will be storing your tents and sleeping bags is dry and free from pests and insects. Do not put your tents underneath heavy objects as this may crack and damage your tents.

3. Store the tent pegs and sharp hooks in their own bags so that they don’t create any wear and tear on camping fabrics.

4. It is better to wash or wipe off your sleeping bags and tents and let these dry out in the sun before storing them.

Tips for storing your heating equipment and cooking gear.

1. Clean all of your camping stoves and lighting equipment before storing it for a long period. Make sure that all the equipment is working properly and if not, get the ones that are not in working condition fixed before storing. While storing your heating equipment, make sure that you put them in their own protective cases. This will help you ensure that they will not be damaged, especially the tools that have brittle glass parts.

2. Check all your cooking gear for possible damage and remove the ones that are completely useless. Make a list of your cooking gear and check if anything is missing. This will make it more convenient for you to know what needs to be purchased before leaving for a camping trip next time.

3. Clean all of your cooking tools and utensils before storing in order to prevent rust or dirt. Store them properly in separate boxes to prevent cracks and scratches.
