Phantom of Opera: Ticketnest

                                                                                         

This story is about a man named Erik, a manic genius with a distorted face, he frightens the Opera Garnier, under which he constructs his den and there he takes his beloved, a beautiful soprano, under his wing. The original Leroux's 1910 novel is set in 19th century. It starts with an opera house whose employees complain that the opera house is haunted by a mysterious ghost who inflicts chaos and destruction when unhappy. Erik, playing the "Phantom of the Opera" keeps sending the managers of the Opera Garnier continuous threats of devastation if they don’t pay him a monthly income of 20,000 francs.
These payments was made for several years of that manager's tenure, but is hastily finished when two new proprietors, Armand Moncharmin and Firmin Richard, take over the opera house plus refuse to pay as they just consider these empty threats. Erik takes on a new protégée, Christine Daaé. He lies to her hat he is sent by her father to help her and is an angel. He provides her regular voice lessons through the wall. Under the guidance of Erik, Christine claims new distinction on stage especially when she is chosen to replace the present prima Donna Carlotta. Donna’s act is impaired by the Phantom. Christine excels in her debut and straight away wins the hearts of the audience, plus of her childhood boyfriend, Raoul.
Erik becomes jealous of Christine and Raoul’s relationship and takes her to his den under the opera house. Christine finally figures out that Erik is no angel and is really disappointed; she also knows the secret that he and the ghost are same. She understands now that he is cruel, capricious, treacherous and pungent, yet also brilliant and pitiful. She is angry on his betrayal and wants to be free. Erik promises to set her free after five days. Erik and Christine ultimately start a duet from Otello, and out of passion Christine rips off his mask, just to see him as she knows he loves her. Erik is so furious and threatens her to never free her but later changes his mind but asks her not to give her love to anyone and return on her own will which she did but only out of pity for Erik.
After Christine's first performance, Raoul overhears Christine yielding to an oppressive, ethereal voice in her dressing room (Erik). He is jealous and suspicious that another man is deceiving her just to seduce her. He starts spying on her to search the mysterious seducer. Christine on knowing is furious, but after Erik exposes himself, and with Raoul's determination and peril not to leave on his naval expedition until she tells him the truth, she tells Raoul, on the roof of the Opera Garnier, everything happened between her and Erik. They plan to run away from Paris and Erik.
Erik overhears, and kidnaps Christine from the stage from her final performance. Raoul is directed by Persian to Erik’s den but sadly both of them end up in the torture camber. There they vulnerably listen to Erik fuming at Christine, who lied to him and deceived him. He terrorizes Christine that if she doesn’t marry him, he will destroy the Opera House with explosives. Christine, already tormented, sadly accepts his proposal.
Finally, Christine proves true sympathy to Erik, she cries and doesn’t run away when he takes off his mask, in addition kisses him on the forehead. This gave Erik a contentment he never imagines possible. Erik frees Raoul and Christine to get married. But he just wishes that Christine come back after his death to bury him with the ring he once gave her. And he died after sometime after Christine goes lamenting his lost love and the joy Christine gave him.
