There are cultural, scenic, social, romantic, creative, culinary and just plain fun reasons to visit Oslo, Norway. There is never a dull moment in Oslo and it is certainly a unique place to visit.
Lets start with the scenic reasons. There are forests, beaches and lets not forget the islands in the fjord. You can commune with nature, enjoy cultural activities and spend time outside hiking. Oslo is a city filed with cultural opportunities. During the day you can visit the Opera building as well as the Munch Museum. You might also enjoy seeing a renovated Viking ship and Oslo is the only place you can still see an original Viking helmet. The sub-water tunnel in Drobak is an interesting place to visit and you can stop at any of the museums in the area. Check out the Royal Palace, The Nobel Peace Center, the National Folk Museum and the Akershus Castle. The nightlife in Oslo is exciting as well.
It is fun to eat in Oslo. You will have many choices from fresh sea food to Norwegian favorites. Feast on the chocolate that Norway is famous for and also enjoy international entrees. Many of the restaurants are by the sea and you will have a wonderful view as you enjoy a special and tantalizing meal.

You might want to look into a tour of Frognerparken. This popular tourist attraction is a place you will definitely want to have your camera handy. Make sure you allow plenty of time for photos and also to study all the sculptures. These sculptures show the different stages of life and are quite remarkable. This park is very beautiful and is user-friendly as well. People can roller skate in the park, kids can climb on the statues and others may want to soak up the sun stretched out on the lawn.
