For a sport that is exceedingly popular for being an expensive sport, surprisingly entails the least amount of equipments to play. There are many people who can do reasonably well with just single Golf club, by simply modifying the direction and power of the swing. The essential equipments that constitute the game are as follows:

Golf Clubs

A Golf Club is the first and foremost requirement for the game of Golf. Golf is not a kind of game where equipments can be comfortably shared and so individual golf clubs are of extreme importance. Golf clubs can be broadly categorized into the four main categories that are irons, woods, hybrids and putters.

Irons: - iron Clubs are the most flexible golf clubs. These are about 36-40 inches on shaft and are shorter than the wooden clubs. They provide clubbing with relational skill in comparison to the woods that requires a good scale of precision.

Woods: - with shafts measuring around 40-47 inches, wood clubs are amongst the longest Golf clubs. Woods are often pertained as a driver and are most suitable in hitting off the tee, or in the situations that require definitive drivers or carries.

Wedges/Hybrids: - these clubs are essentially referred as irons. However, these clubs have a loft of more than 44 inches, which has earned them an exceptional category apart from the irons. Wedges are modified to meet quite a many factors. One such exemplar is the sand wedge that holds a specialized base with a "bounce" element.

Putters: - putters are the Golf clubs that are applied on the green. They enclose a low loft and some of them even have shorter shafts, which helps in balancing the precision and the stroke. These clubs are ideally suited for finishes on the green.

Nowadays, there are a large number of styles and designs to suit every golfer's manner and conduct. Modern clubs are lighter and provide a harder swing. Hybrid clubs improves the swing and the control over the ball.

During the play, Golfers are permitted to carry 14 different types of golf clubs. Generally, the set of 14 clubs comprises of 3 woods, 8 irons, 2 wedges and a putter.

Golf Balls

The second most important equipment in Golf is the Golf Balls. Golf balls are made up of synthetic material and have a standard diameter of 42.67mm. The dimples are the most prominent feature of golf balls. These dimples have an aerodynamic function, which affects numerous factors including the spin, trajectory and feel. Some balls are even made to generate desired results, such as softer ones allow more spin and harder ones are made to initiate longer distance.

Besides these equipments, the other Golf equipments consist of Golf Carts, Golf Bags, Golf Tees, Golf Cleats and Golf Ball markers. However Golf Clubs and Golf Balls are the most important Golf equipments to set the game going.
