A few years back, prime time TV slots were dominated by the X-factor! - X-Files, X-Men Revolution and Xena-Warrior Princess. All the three shows have maintained high to medium ratings throughout their show period and still have dedicated fans who clamor for old episodes to be repeatedly telecast.

X-Files – A cult drama on science fiction, this TV show is a star in its own right. The show depicts how special FBI agents Mulder, Scully, Doggett and Reyes, uncover ugly truths about forces that are ready to harm the American civilization. What makes the show interesting is the pairing up of Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Though they are poles apart, they come together to investigate and solve mysteries related to paranormal events occurring in the country. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are exceptional actors who bring life into their acting. Winner of 5 Golden Globes and another 65 wins, this show can be considered as one that gave science fiction dramas a new lease of life.

X-Men Revolution – No one ever imagined that an animation series would capture audience’s imagination this way, as did X-Men. A two-time Emmy winner, this show is based on Marvel Comics Superhero team, the X-Men. Apart from Spider-man animated series, it has been touted as the longest running animation series on Kids WB. The specialty of this show lies in the fact that its characters are high-school kids learning to control their superpowers. This show can be called the best kid’s cult series of the last decade.

Xena – Warrior Princess – It is one of the best TV shows to portray women in strong willed characters, who want to use their power to save innocent people. Xena is a perfect mixture of action, adventure, comedy and fantasy. Lucy Lawless as Xena and Renee O’Connor as Gabriella have made audiences jump with excitement during the thrilling fight sequences. A primetime Emmy winner, this show was a super hit among all age groups.

The common link between all these TV shows is their ‘fantasy factor’. In spite of being made on science fiction and fantasy, they were able to deliver the essence of the story in an interesting and gripping manner. All these TV series are now available in DVD’s and on Internet.

Choose one of these shows for a night out and see how the X-factor takes complete control of you!
