Education needs are constantly being emphasized in every corner of the country nowadays. As recession looms over the entire nation, it is important to reinstate the education goals set forth in every state. Literacy rates merely account for students in school, but the actual statistics fail to ascertain how many students pass through high school and how well they are fundamentally strong.

The responsibility of providing quality education boils down to two main groups – parents and school. While they collectively contribute towards providing the means to school education there is a possibility that they have missed on one crucial thing – making the children fundamentally strong. Not all schools take the trouble to provide specialized coaching to students who are not up to the mark. The school teaching environment may seem very daunting; not allowing them to voice their concerns over lack of subject understanding. Children are also bogged down with peer pressure and other external factors that may take a toll on their academic life.

So, the only group that is solely responsible in driving the child towards academic pursuit is the child’s parents. They also become the only link for the child to express his concerns related to academic and personal issues.

Here are a few pointers on how parents can approach such problem scenarios.

1. First empathize with them to understand the problem at hand. Let children know that parents will always do the best for them
2. Analyze what are the child’s actual problem – academic help or external factors
3. If it is due to external factors, assess how well they can be overcome to make the child concentrate on his academics
4. If the problem is solely due to insufficient academic coaching, look for alternative coaching facilities available
5. Whether it is arranging for personalized geometry tutoring or registering for online 11th grade science tutoring or sending them to special classes for 10th grade chemistry, choose one that is most feasible and convenient for the child.

Every effort will reap its benefits in the long run. When every parent is able to spend quality time with his child and provide the right resources, there can be nothing other than success all the way.
