These days almost all homes in the UK have at least one TV, and some have many more. The television has become so much a part of everyday life that huge numbers of people cannot imagine life without it. Whether your taste for the TV screen is for documentaries, movies or for video games, chances are it features quite a bit in your life. The majority of people have quite simple needs from appliances and electrical equipment; they want their televisions to be easy to use, as safe as possible and to give the best performance in both picture and sound quality, and in energy consumption.
As with any piece of household equipment, a TV has potential to cause injury of it is misused. As an electrical appliance, it should be handled with care and children should be warned of potential dangers and instructed on proper use. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when handling TVs, not only can they be dangerous, but you may well have spent quite a lot of money on the initial purchase. These TVs have different mounting requirements than the more traditional, more cumbersome CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) models.
One of the main attractions of the flat screens televisions is that they can be wall mounted. If you decide this is how you wish to proceed when placing your own TV, then make sure that any TV bracket you choose is suitable for the make and model of the screen in question. There is an amazing level of choice when it comes to placing your slim TV; it is possible to purchase a TV bracket to fit on walls, ceilings, in corners – pretty much anywhere to match your requirements! The majority of TV manufacturers can supply or recommend a TV bracket that will be able to hold your model safely. If you choose to place your TV on a stand, on the floor or another piece of furniture, make sure it is adequately supported and is not in a position where it is likely to be accidentally damaged by children, pets or even yourself!
Some are quite nervous of wall mounting their TV as they are unsure as to where they will place other items, such as DVD players, games consoles and video recorders. There are however, a number of practical solutions, cabinets which can be placed below the TV on the floor or even be wall mounted as well. There are a number of solutions available to help hide the many cables that all these devices seem to require! No matter where you choose to position your TV and its accessories, keep safety in mind just as much as your viewing pleasure. Enjoy your TV!
