On your wedding day you’ll want to look your absolute best and with most things in life this will take some planning and preparation.
Arrange a Make-Up Trial
Ensure that you arrange a full make-up trial well before the big day. This will give you and your make-up artist the chance to try out ideas well in advance of the day itself. Try various hairstyles, up and down, with your chosen make-up, ideally with your wedding dress on. Failing this make sure you have a decent photo for your stylist to look at.
Look After Your Skin
Start to adopt a skin care regime well before your wedding date. Cleanse and tone each day, exercise, drink plenty of water and eat fruit to ensure that your skin is in tip-top condition on the day.
Don't Overdo It
Although you’ll want to make an impact, beware of over-doing things. Your outfit and the occasion itself will exaggerate your look so go subtle and opt for comfort rather than impact.
Successful Make-Up
Preparation is the key to all successful make-up and on your wedding day especially so. If your skin is oily then use a moisturiser which is natural and oil-free before applying your foundation. Select a foundation which compliments your skin tone. Applying a loose powder with a soft brush will absorb any oils and help eliminate a shiny complexion.
Avoid powdery colours around the eyes and opt for richer colours such as gold, dark brown and plum defined with a black or dark coloured liner, for impact, and water-proof mascara, in case of any wedding day tears.
Opt for deep reds or coral for the lips with a liner in the same hue, or just a touch darker to add definition. A matt lipstick will last longest and provide a softer look for photos and throughout the day.
Touch-Up
Don’t forget to keep touching-up to make sure you look great even at the end of what will be a long day.
