The importance of strategy in any marketing campaign, be it bookmark printing or custom bookmarks, flyer printing or even custom hang tags, cannot be overemphasized. It is not something for just the head honchos to decide on. A sales strategy is one that should be identifiable by all the employees – from the people in the corporate boardroom to the guys putting the oil in the machines. This means that strategizing is for everybody in your organization. Therefore, communicating the strategy for your bookmark printing or full color catalogs for example is very important. Everyone in the organization is counted on to perform when it is time to execute the plan.
The bosses at the corporate boardrooms must be aware of the strategy for your custom bookmarks because you need their support to launch it. They must be involved in crafting the plan so that they can aptly call these projects truly theirs.
On the other hand, middle management should also be aware because the implementation of the plan will most likely fall on their shoulders. Finally, the rank-and-file must also be aware of the plan because it would foster a sense of belongingness to the project, be it bookmark printing or invitation printing.
I remember one company that made this principle work in their organization. This company gave away custom bookmarks with the words 'We are going to be No. 1!' Everybody in the organization from the members of the board of directors to the cleaners got one each. Initially, skeptics thought that it was just another gimmick, but little do they know that it was the start of a movement to bring the company together to reach the top of the industry. This is essentially why you have to involve everybody in the business to sell the company.
Having a clear objective, in this case aspiring to be number one, is key in any strategy. Before selling the company or its products or services to customers, your employees should be your first customers. You must sell to your people before attempting to sell it to your target market. For how can you sell something if the ones producing it are not convinced at all? To be number one means everybody in the organization is aspiring to achieve that lofty position.
Marketing strategies then must embody a clear direction from the top to the members down the line in your organization.
