Witch Hazel, a shrub, or small tree, is a twisted plant that grows in the northern regions of the United States as well as some parts of Canada. Witch Hazel is used to make a witch hazel lotion, as well as an astringent, and other cosmetic and health care preparations, not the least of which is a rub for hemorrhoids.

Even more than this, Witch Hazel, and hence witch hazel lotions made from the extracts, have been proven by studies (perhaps due to the flavonoids it is conjectured) to be helpful to the blood vessels that lie beneath the surface of the skin.

Witch Hazel lotion can be helpful when you require relief from the inflammation and swelling that may accompany an outbreak of eczema, and will even help to cure it when placed where the skin is less broken down, around the area, and will help to prevent it from becoming further inflamed, as well as to prevent infection while the skin is broken down.

For those of us who want to look the best we can, witch hazel lotion has been helpful in healing affected small veins on the face. It will actively help to heal veins such as in the cheeks or neck area, and in fact, tightens pores, and may actually minimize the appearance of tiny lines and wrinkles.
