Points earned from your nominated occupation and corresponding required skill can be as low as 40 points and as high as 60 points.

Benefits of Permanent Residents

Holders of this Australia visa can live and work in the country on a permanent basis, which means they can remain in Australia indefinitely. Entry and exit is allowed for five years from the date the visa is granted.

Study in an Australian school or university is also allowed. Australian visa holders of this type can also receive Medicare benefits and subsidised healthcare from the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme, get access to social security payments, sponsor others for permanent residency and eventually be eligible for Australian citizenship.
