Spying is fast becoming an activity that anyone with the right equipment to perform. You can, however, continue protecting your privacy and that of your loved ones with bug detectors. Use them and you can know who’s spying on you, why, and how.
Why You Need Bug Detectors
Do you feel like you’re being watched? Do you have business competitors determined to get their hands on top secret information about the deal you’re working on? Perhaps your spouse is being paranoid and suspects you of adultery? What about stalkers and voyeurs? These and more make up the many threats to your privacy and you’ll only experience peace of mind when you find out who’s been viewing you with a spyglass.
If, however, you find counter-spying distasteful but would still like to identify those who are intent on invading your privacy, bug detectors are definitely what you need.
Bug detectors give you the means of identifying such threats and providing you with enough information to ask help from the authorities and have them take the necessary action against them.
How to Find the Right Bug Detector for You
Budget considerations aside, you will also have to take into account the different features offered by bug detectors and determine which of them would best suit your needs.
Type of Bug Detection
Bug detectors mainly work by sweeping the air for radio waves commonly emitted by bugs. Some detectors are only capable of spotting wired bugs, some are designed to discover wireless bugs, while others are capable of doing both.
Bug detection is also dependent on the frequency range the device is capable of scanning. A limited frequency range, such as bug detectors capable of only singling out bugs within a 1 to 8Mhz range, would not be capable of detecting bugs operating on a higher frequency.
A number of bug detectors, on the other hand, are capable of advanced bug detection. They’re able to single out bugs in the vicinity that may have been switched off or run out of battery power.
Other Important Features of Bug Detectors to Look for
For optimal results, look for bug detectors capable of scanning for radio waves even in greater distances. Consider the battery power as well; you want something rechargeable or at least immediately replaceable. Last but not the least, consider its appearance. Choose one that appears and functions as something else like pens, key chains, and flash lights.
