Students probably think that schools have at least one thing right; that’s incorporating some fun-filled events in their curriculum. School events give them a breather from mundane academic activities. Some of the events may be academically inclined, but the fact that they don’t involve the confines of a classroom, make them interesting. School activities could vary from science fairs, sports tournaments to fundraisers and cultural events. Almost every child gets involved in planning and organizing an event.
While the school faculty is actively involved in assisting with the event management, the onus is on the students to do their share of work. Students gain valuable experience while they learn to manage such events. Students in elementary school are especially new to such work, and will need plenty of guidance to organize these events smoothly. Here are a few pointers that could make their work easier.

1.Your first step should be to bring in volunteers. You’ll need to get some of your best speakers to work on this and persuade students who seem uninterested at first. You’ll need every head that can be counted to pitch in and do work. Events always need a lot of helping hands to go through without a hitch.

2.Once you know what kind of event you are about to organize, start delegating work like food, decoration, publicity, etc. Form groups for each activity and give a timeline. Use an online organization tool to coordinate volunteers and to make every group accountable for what’s assigned to them.

3.Most importantly, calculate the costs and make a budget. Some things can be eliminated from the list depending on its necessity in the event. Be frugal while planning advertising and publicity work. They are the biggest budget consumers.

4.School events also present an opportunity to make money and raise funds and you should organize things to separate food and activities. Keeping different stalls that sell tickets for various activities and food is a good idea. Get every section of the school involved to set up a booth. It’s the best way to make maximum proceeds through the event.

5.Finally, don’t forget to make arrangements for unforeseen occurrences like rain, snow or general bad weather. It’s absolutely necessary to have a backup plan while organizing any event.
