Of course virtually everyone knows that there is a hospital somewhere in the city that they live in or is near where they live but is this the only option for emergency medical treatment? Also, with medical costs rising by the day, is there a more affordable option to an emergency room visit?

Emergency Room Visit

The fact is that most likely there is, in the form of an emergency care clinic and for the vast majority of emergency situations this may be the best option. Face the fact. If you are injured and your in injury is in no way life threatening do you really need to goto a hospital emergency room?

A Costly Option

For one thing, as soon as you enter, sign in and begin receiving care at a hospital emergency room you will be billed accordingly. This is why you hear all the stories about people that went to a hospital to receive care for a minor injury and got stuck with bills in the thousands of dollars.

Emergency Care Clinic in Your Community

Somewhere in your community there is an emergency care clinic and you should find out where it is, so you can get there if you ever do need emergency care. After all, most people at some time in their life will in fact need to be treated for an emergency medical situation.

Do You Need an Ambulance

Another thing that many people don't realize, is that they don't need to call an ambulance in the event of a minor emergency. The reason that most people do call an ambulance is that they are under the illusion that it will get them to a doctor quickly.

Time Considerations

In reality, it can take up to fifteen minutes or more for an ambulance to arrive and sometimes even longer then that. It's something to think about, because if you ever do find yourself in a medical emergency that isn't life threatening you may want to opt for simply driving yourself to an emergency care clinic to save you time and money.
