Giving out too much information is never going to work out with any marketing venture that you use to promote your business. You must always think that people do not have much time to spend reading through your ads, especially if they won’t easily get how they can benefit in the process. So in the preparation of your brochure design, you must think of how you can maximize the use of the material in ways that people are going to be inclined to spend more time reading them.
As you last in the industry, you will hear of many tricks and tips to help you with your projects that deal with promotions and advertisements. It will be helpful to note these down. You are not required to follow everything. But this will help you in formulating your own strategies that you can use in long run.
So how do you plan for a simple brochure design? You may have realized by now that the process is not as simple as you think it is. It doesn’t end when you hire a graphic artist to carry out in print the ideas that you have in mind. Here are some factors that may affect the effectiveness of your brochures. You can add these on your notes if you still don’t have them.
1. You have to apply the feedback that you have gathered from your clients and prospects with regards to your brochures; its design, contents, readability and effectiveness. Listen to what they have to say and find ways to apply them on your materials. This way, they will feel the importance that you give to their words.
You have to hear them out or else you are committing the mistake that most new salespeople are guilty of. The latter will resort to a monologue of how great their products and services are. They will build up what they are offering thinking that the people whom they are talking to are still interested with what they are saying. But if you won’t include your clients into the conversation, you won’t know what their concerns are so you won’t be able to focus on those.
2. Focus more on the benefits rather than the features of what you are trying to sell to your clients. Of course, you have to tell them how your products differ from the similar products available in the market. You have to summarize how these products work. But more than such aspect, your materials must also reflect how your clients can benefit from the products and services that you offer. They must find the value of what you are trying to sell them the moment they browse through your ads.
3. Avoid using the clichés on your ads. You have to be seen by your clients as the light at the end of the tunnel, not as someone who is blocking the tunnel that they cannot get out of it. Do not make people feel that they are being sold. Once they get that feeling, they will turn away from you. You have to be seen as a problem solver and not someone who will just add up on their expenses.
With these ideas in mind, you can surely create better brochure design that your target market will appreciate and like.
