SEATTLE - Remodelling Key Arena is not workable option for the team, the buyer of the Seattle Supersonics said Wednesday.
Clay Bennett is looking for a site for a large scale arena-entertainment complex, he said at a news conference. Bennett said he's been talking to interested parties in Bellevue and Renton.
He's also spoken with Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels and was scheduled to speak with Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire later in the day.
The chairman of the Oklahoma City-based Professional Basketball Club LLC said he is developing a blueprint for a large entertainment complex. The site and plan should be completed by the end of the year.
Seattle sports fans have speculated that Bennett might move the Sonics to Oklahoma City after the upcoming season.
