Although an iPod battery provides a long time entertainment, but still after a certain number of years the iPod battery needs replacement. A way of replacing the battery is to submit the iPod to the Apple Company and pay huge amount of money for its replacement .Another and rather a more convenient way of replacing the battery is to do it by yourself.
The articles which are to be used include a stiff piece of plastic and a new iPod battery.
To start with you can firstly buy a new iPod battery making sure that it is the correct one to be used for the iPod. The second step would be to pry open the iPod. This can be done by wedging a flat piece of durable plastic between the two-sides and then gently working it along the sides until the feel of tabs holding the case together is achieved. You should unclip them by poking those inwards.
Then the two sides should be separated taking care not to sever the thin ribbon cable joining the two parts. The next step would be to remove the hard drive. This can de done by carefully removing the hard –drive which is the part sitting on a piece of blue rubber which can be done by lifting the socket of the cable that connects the hard disk to the board. After this the removal of the battery is done which is done taking care that the circuit board underneath is not touched.
The connection of the battery should be kept in mind so that the new one can be reattached in the same way. The power cord is being disconnected after this by disconnecting the battery's power cord from the circuit board. The wires may be wrapped around or under the circuit board; if so, gently pull them free with your pick. After this the wrapping of the power cord is required around the edge of the circuit board in the same way as the old cord.
Next comes the step of attaching the new battery which can be easily done by inserting the new battery with the reattachment of the hard drive connector and the hard disk. Then finally screw the two sides of the iPod together, recharge the new iPod battery for at least three hours and once again your iPod is ready to provide you with unlimited entertainment anytime and also anywhere.
