Your sleeping position can also cause acid to reflux. Sleep with your head and torso elevate so the food remains down in your stomach. You can keep comfortable by putting a pillow under your head and back. Also, don't go to bed within two hours of eating. Wait at least two hours before lying down so you've had some time to digest the food, as a general rule, go to bed two to three hours after you eat to mitigate heartburn in pregnancy.
Avoid food that are most like to cause heartburn such as sodas, juice and coffee. In addition taking water slowly throughout the day is advisable rather than drinking large quantity of water. Citrus fruits, tomatoes, fried foods, vinegar, mustard and fats to correct your posture. You just have to believe that practicing correct posture can be of great help when it comes to heartburn problem
Just like acid reflux, heartburn during pregnancy is caused by stomach acids sneaking out of the stomach past the valve that is supposed to keep it there. The stomach fluids rise up the esophagus causing pain and discomfort. Unlike acid reflux, the valve is not simply faulty; it has been relaxed by hormones produced due to the pregnancy. The particular hormone is called progesterone and it also relaxes the muscles of the uterus.
