After you have taken your decision regarding the different types of wood to be used, you will have think about the finish of wood that want to use to make these wooden floorings. It is possible for you to purchase wood that has been prefinished. Prefinished wood already is stained and has protective coating. It might be more convenient for you but it would cost you a lot more money.
Other alternative is to install wooden flooring and then finish the flooring after it has been installed. This will require that you will have the sand down the floor after installation, then stain the flooring and thereafter a lay a layer of urethane to protect the wooden flooring. After each coating of the floor, you will have to sand floor once more and this process would take at least two days to complete. If you want to provide higher level of protection to your wooding floor, you might apply coats of urethane for number times.
After the wooden flooring has been laid out, you should take proper care of the floor to make it last as long as possible. The floor should be regularly by sweeping or by using vacuum cleaners. Removal of dirt and dust would ensure protection of the floor from damages caused by scratches.
