In the wake of the terror attack in Mumbai on the 26th of November, 2008 the last 2 India England ODIs were cancelled and the Test Matches also appeared to have been scrapped. But both the Cricketing nations and their boards were determined to beat the terror with the sports spirit and this is what they’ve managed to do by announcing the reviewed schedule of the India England Test Matches.
The England team amidst speculations had already started preparations in Abu Dhabi – and now it is official that they shall be here in full force – with Flintoff and Harmison along about whom it was rumored that they were reluctant to come and play in India after the attacks.
Chennai has been finalized for the first test while Mohali is being considered for the second test. The security arrangements have been discussed with the ECB who are now assured fully and the players’ safety – in cricket grounds, hotels and the flights is of prime concern to India.
About the game – England might prove dangerous as they’re going to be back to get even with the Indian Squad after their miserable performance in the ODIs. “They’ll be back with a vengeance to even the score and the Indians will try to hold the fort – whatever happens the test matches this time will be fiercer than the T20s!” says Vikram an ardent Cricket fan and a Fantasy Cricket Enthusiast.
People to watch out for in these tests will be – Sehwag and Gambhir who are all set to demolish the English attack and Yuvraj Singh who was the obvious choice after Ganguly’s retirement might also prove costly to the English.
Ojha has been picked for the Tests to back up spinners Harbhajan and Amit Mishra and it is being hoped that the combination will have the same effect as the Kumble, Harbhajan and Mishra trio against Australia.
On the other side Flintoff and Pieterson are determined to fight and so are the others in the English squad. Whatever the outcome of the matches – the audience is sure to have a gala time watching the clash of the titans!
