If you are going to buy a condominium, there are in fact many areas you have to look into before making your decision as in which one to purchase. It is recommended that you do your own research first to find out the recent transaction prices of the type of condos you want. You would be able to know if it is the good time as in whether it is at present, the buyers’ market or the sellers’ market. If it is the buyers’ market, by all means go for it.
But before you sign the paper, there are some other good tips that you should learn and apply.
You have to examine and observe the building, as in you want to see a concrete based construction. This is especially necessary in Florida where the surrounding is quite humid. You wouldn’t like to stay in places where the construction is using what looks like plywood because there is high chance of being attacked by termites. Also make sure that there is no mold conquering the external of your wall, this is to prevent any corrosion. Next, hurricanes are frequent visitors around here and thus having a concrete wall can keep your family safer. Check thoroughly and if you are still not sure, clarify with the real estate agents or the developers, they are supposed to give you an answer truthfully.
To make sure you get a good deal, source for a good property agent is crucial. Hire a friend who is in this line or one who is highly recommended. You need someone who is honest, responsible and service oriented. Beware of agents who actually do things behind your back so that they get better commission while you get a bad deal. Also, do not go for Realtor's who only work for one or certain developers, as you may not be able to view many more other condos in the market which they are not suppose to be selling, but may suit you perfectly.
When you are viewing the condos that you may be buying, try making friends with your future neighbors. You might be able to see why these units are for sales, is it for a positive or a negative reason. Look around the surrounding of the building, like the car park, to find out if there is any sign of violence happened around the area before.
Do not rush into things; ensure all areas are properly addressed before you dig out your hard earned money. Having a roof over your head isn’t like buying fish in the market, do a thorough research first before you head on to view your dream house.
