The word 'Frost Free' is just coming up in the world of home appliances. As we know that today's fast-paced life would not allow us to do lots of household jobs manually to keep our food totally fresh in all respect. In such cases, we are literally dependant on the cooling agents called refrigerators.
Refrigerators help us to keep our food fresh and hygienic. In the frost-free refrigerators, inside the freezer, the dry air is circulated around the cabinet using fans, instead of the traditional cooling aspect assembled within all the freezer liner. Those of a frost-free system are quite compact and separated from the main cabinet space allowing them to be heated for short periods to dispose of any kind of ice forming.
All of us know very well that, refrigerators are the indispensable part of our lifestyle. Without this simple cooling agent which we now name as refrigerator, we could not able to perform our daily household jobs. The earlier models of refrigerators used to require manual de-frosting but the newer ones are the frost free which have lessened the associated labour as far as maintenance is concerned. The Frost-free refrigerators basically has three types of components, they are-timer, heating coil and the temperature sensor. All of these three works rigorously for smooth automatic defrosting of the refrigerator. It works this way-the heating coil is turned on to from time-to-time in every few hours and then the coils are entangled among the freezer coils. The heat melts the frost off the coils and when all of it is melted, the sensor turns off the heat as soon as the temperature goes high and above 32 degrees Fahrenheit and this is how the whole process of defrosting basically works.
We have seen that, in most of the frost free refrigerators, the cooling coils are inside the freezer compartment. The heater is either inserted in to the woven or set on the coils, the timer normally is actually found at the back of the compressor in the older models of refrigerators but the newer ones may have this in front of the refrigerator or even inside it. In the earlier days, the timer generally would go off for defrosting whether it was required or not. But, heating of the coils at every six hours or more would consume a lot of energy. But, now these days, with energy reserves depleting time-to-time at an alarming rate and energy-efficiency being the benchmark, the latest frost-free refrigerators have timers which are controlled electronically and are having adjustable defrost controls.
The easy-to-use but yet complicated to understand mechanism of the Frost-Free Refrigerators has certainly made our life simpler and comfortable in various ways. The time-period of defrosting is not fixed in specific manner. As compare to the older ones, the new Frost-Free Refrigerators are easier to clean and maintain and they also have the upper hand as far as energy saving is concerned. A properly designed and engineered Frost Free Refrigerators uses less energy than the cyclic defrost ones which have to be manually defrosted. Even the price of these cheap Refrigerators is not very much more than the direct cool refrigerators.
