When choosing your roofing contractor or your siding contractor you probably asked a lot of questions, but perhaps you didn't think to ask them if they were reliable. You assumed because they are in business that they would be reliable. Now you are learning that not everyone is reliable just because they have a business. This can be frustrating, especially if you have given the contractor any money and yet the job is not being competed as promised.

Of course, choosing your siding contractor or roofing contractor was a process, but you never expected to deal with someone who couldn't come to work when they should. If you are dealing with this, don't waste time kicking yourself over it. Instead, call them up and explain to them why their actions or inactions are not appropriate. You will generally find that the contractor responds to your irritation but if they don't you need to continue to contact them.

If you don't get the response that you are looking for, let them know that you will cancel checks or reverse payments if they cannot get the job done reliably and in a quality fashion as was promised to you. Most of the time the threat of having their money taken from them will get them on the job and will get things finished. If they finally do get the work done, you should let them know that you will not be recommending them to others because of the trouble that they had getting to work on time or getting things done in the manner in which they should have. If they don't come back to complete the work, reverse the charges, report them to the better business bureau and then seek out a contractor who will take the job seriously from day one by letting each person you call know how serious you are about the process being completed without hassle.
