Gridwall can be a very effective merchandising tool for retail stores. Gridwall is a big space saver, moving many items from crowded floor racks to organized areas of the wall. Use these tips when using gridwall in your store to make the most of your space and to create custom displays for your unique merchandise.
-Fill in blank or oddly shaped areas. One of the best things about gridwall is that it is available in small sections. You can simply clip the pieces together and create oddly shaped display racks and shelves to fill in blank or unusable areas of your store. A good example is a rack of 1'x1' cubes that fit perfectly under a set of stairs. This would have otherwise been an unused space in the store.
-Mount your frequently ignored items for an in-your-face display. Let us say that you sell power tools. You can use zip ties to place your drills and other mountable tools on display at eye level. Entire sets of tools can be displayed where customers can touch and feel them, without being able to drop, steal or otherwise damage the display model. This can save you money and encourage shoppers to go over and take a look. If you just had the tools in the boxes on a shelf, most people would have walked right by. Our nature makes us want to touch and feel objects, especially before we buy. We use our textile senses to judge quality and to help us make decisions about our purchases.
-Create a marketing wall for items such as t-shirts, shoes or tools. The unique ability to place shelves every few inches makes gridwall an excellent choice for displaying many similar items on one wall. The shoe wall is a great example. You may even choose to have one shoe displayed above your inventory, keeping everything together in one place. This can not only save room in your store, but clear out space in your storage areas as well.
-Use gridwall as part of your store theme. Chrome can create an urban feel or create reflections to throw light around the store. Primary color gridwall is an excellent choice for stores that offer merchandise for children. Bright contrasting colors of wall and gridwall can create a boutique feel. Black will blend into the surroundings and make your merchandise the focal point of the store. However you choose to use your gridwall, you will reap the benefits regardless of color or style.
