We have all at one point in our lives heard the saying practice makes perfect. This could not be more true for the sport of soccer. To become a great soccer player you must be willing to practice various soccer drills. Although you can learn a lot at your standard soccer practices, to become a star you need to devout time to practicing on your own as well. Listed below are a few free soccer drills that you can practice with to do just that.

Our first drill is one that many know as juggling. I know what you may be thinking, "how am I going to juggle in a game?" Well, your not. What juggling does is lay the ground work for more advanced skills in the future. Juggling is fun, easy and can be performed by yourself.

Juggling the ball sharpens your ball control ability and let's you get a good feel for the ball. By practicing this you'll become a better dribbler and trapper thus improving your game. Another perk is that juggling builds balance, the ability to maneuver the ball with both feet and heightens concentration. Juggling just 30 minutes a day can go a long way in helping with many other skills.

Our next drill is one called one on one dribbling. To be most effective, you should do this drill in pairs. On many occasions in a game you will be challenged by your opponent and need to get by them. By practicing this drill, you'll be ready when it counts the most, in a game.

To get this skill down pat you'll want to play both roles. In one turn you'll be the defender and in the next you'll be the aggressor. Make a game out of it, when the player your practicing with gets past you, it's a point and vice versa.

Finally we have one touch passing. This is best done in groups with your teammates. This drill will help in your ball handling skills and also work on your agility. The basics of this drill is having at least 4 players, 2 on either side about 10 feet apart. You can start by passing the ball to someone on the other side where they will have to immediately kick the ball back to your side only touching it once. After a short bit of time you should try and speed it up some to increase skill.

The backbone of a great soccer player are the drills he practices. By doing some of these free soccer drills you too can become great. You would be hard pressed to find a great player who doesn't practice on their own time. How do you think they became so great.
