Socialites and the rich flock to the Hamptons during the summer months where they open up their summer homes for a few months of relaxation. Part of the fun of visiting a resort locale is enjoying the fine food that is available locally. Some restaurants in the Hamptons feature haute cuisine, whereas others focus on local, fresh foods. Both are available in abundance in the Hamptons, so you will be able to find your favorites no matter what you are in the mood for.
Although the Hamptons is the name that commonly refers to East Hampton and Southampton, there are also several small villages nearby that often share the Hamptons' moniker. Amagansett, Bridgehampton, Hampton Bays, Montauk, Napeague, Quogue, Sag Harbor Sagponack, Shelter Island, Springs, Wainscott, Water Mill and Westhampton are names of some of the other nearby towns that offer wonderful food for residents and visitors alike.
If you are in the mood for mouthwatering French cuisine, then Pierre's in Bridgehampton is not to be missed. Delightful seafood is this French-inspired bistro's forte. You will find dishes such as Salmon Tartar, sea scallops and roasted cod in lemon-white wine sauce, all cooked to perfection. The owner, himself a pastry chef, also has a delightful patisserie that offers brioches, croissants and other warm treats for breakfast and throughout the day.
The Laundry Restaurant is the place to be and be seen in East Hampton. You will find some of the best contemporary American/Mediterranean food in the Hamptons at this outstanding restaurant. They also offer superb catering, and this delightful location makes a wonderful spot for your next big party.
When you hunger for a taste of the Orient, try East By Northeast in Montauk. Featuring Pacific Rim/Asian fusion cuisine, you will enjoy the lovely view and high-quality service as you dine on East By Northeast's delicious dishes in the Hamptons.
Italian food is always a welcomed change, and you can enjoy this style of food at Della Femina in East Hampton. Executive chef Michael Rozzi serves up wonderful Balsam Farm Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese to start, which can be followed up with Lamb Loin with Local Ratatouille or a wonderful rib eye steak with red wine sauce to tempt your palate with the flavors of Italy.
If you are in the mood to eat outdoors in the summer, then Savanna's is a great choice. Featuring a wide variety of foods served up in interesting ways, you will enjoy creamy risottos, roasted duckling, and a wonderful selection of desserts, among the other delightful offerings available at Savanna's, where you can dine on their outdoor patio.
No matter what your palate wants, it will be pleased with any of the fine dining experiences available in the Hamptons.
