Even if you are suffering from oily skin you still need to make sure that you are following a planned routine and this includes moisturising your skin. There are so many people who do think that moisturising oily skin is not needed, but this is a mistake as the skin still needs to maintain essential moisture levels.

There are a huge range of lotions and creams that are available for the treatment of oily skin, and some can be thick and sit on the surface, whereas there are others that are rapidly absorbed into the surface of the skin. You want to be able to find products that do not contain any kind of chemicals and are not going to clog the pores even further.

But if you do have oily skin then you may have noticed that your skin is not that wrinkled as compared to someone that is suffering from dry skin for instance. This is because the oils that are produced are there to keep the skin moist and supple and it is in fact the best anti ageing serum that is available. But having said this, there are many disadvantages to having oil
skin, and the advantages are soon forgotten.

Oily skin is more prone to attracting dirt and bacteria to the skin and this will ultimately lead to the development of spots and acne from appearing. It can also be very annoying then when you touch your skin during the day, and you see that your finger is shiny, it can make you wonder just what you have to do in order to keep your oily skin under control and correctly managed.

Do not think that it is the end of the world if you are suffering from oily skin, because as mentioned, the natural oils that are produced are needed. But with a good plan you can control your shiny face and keep it looking normal during the day.

One thing that you need to do is to remove any of the excess oils from the surface, but still retaining some of the oils that are need to help keep the skin from becoming dry. A lot of the skin care products that are available do contain alcohol and this causes the skin to become dry which means that you are going form one extreme to another, and all this means is that the glands will try to overcompensate by producing even more oils.

You also need to be washing your face twice a day only and no more than this and this does go beyond what many people actually think. There is the possibility that you can over treat your skin and this can make matters worse.

The best times when you need to be washing your skin is once in the morning and once in the evening only, and when washing in the evening you need to have removed all traces of any make up. Do use gentle products and those that are free from any harsh ingredients. Remember any products you use need to work in harmony with your body and heal and restore your skin not the opposite.
