Most lowriders are basically vintage cars of the 1940’s to 1960’s wherein the suspension has been modified so that it rides very close to the ground. By using modern day hydraulics, users have height adjustable suspension.

Lowriders are a symbol of prestige and became a trademark for anyone intending to gain attention or for those who were regularly cruising on the highways. Building lowriders has evolved from using heavy weights and slashing the springs to bring the body close to the ground.

Hotrods are typical American cars that are a combination of vintage cars fitted with large engines tailored for linear speed. The modifications are done with the intention of pepping up acceleration and increasing top end speed. For many Americans converting their vintage cars to hot rods is more of a national sport.
