There are many types of skin types that are common amongst people from all backgrounds, but there is probably nothing more potentially damaging than oily skin as this can lead to potential breakouts of acne, spots and also blackheads.
Oily skin is actually very common amongst teenagers, but it can also be seen in women who are having their period or may be pregnant.
Getting oily skin can be quite distressing for a lot of people because it makes their skin shine, look dull and the greasy feel makes the skin very unpleasant to look at.
The damage that is caused by having oily skin can also be very upsetting for a lot of people as it can lead to the breakout of blemishes and other problems with the skin mainly that of acne. There are some people who do feel that they are just not able to face society if there are problems with their skin and would even consider committing suicide and this is not an exaggeration. The appearance of the skin is very important to a lot of people simply because it is on display for the world to see and we are currently living in a world where looks are everything.
The reason that oily skin takes place is because of the fact that the glands within the skin are becoming overactive and this is what is causing more oils to be produced. Why the glands are being overactive in the first place is due to a number of factors such as hormones, the weather, diet and even the current skin care products that a person may be currently using.
Even though oily skin is mainly associated with teenagers there are also many adults that are suffering from oily skin and the pores of the skin appear to be enlarged. The trick that needs to be obtained is that the excess oils on the face is removed only and not all the oils. If all the oils are being removed then this will lead to the skin becoming dry, which can actually make the glands produce even more oils.
Now when it comes to actually caring for the skin there are two things that you need to do. First you need to make sure that you are eating the right foods and drinking lots of water. Do not eat foods that are full of saturated fats and do make sure that you are eating foods that contain good fats such as those from nuts and seeds for instance.
You need to be keeping your skin clean and you need to be staying away from those beauty products that are going strip away at your skin which can actually lead to a condition called Reactive Seborrhea, which is where the glands within the skin are over active than normal.
Stay away from products that contain alcohol as these have a drying effect on the skin and it is important to be able to develop a healthy balance between having lots of oils on the skin and having no oils at all.
