Calendars are one of those promotional tools that work for you year ‘round. They sit in front of your customer day after day, keeping your logo in front of them all the while. What more could you ask for? Besides more sales, that is.

Calendars have four primary parts: pictures, dates, logo, and contact information. Like it or not, that is also the order of importance. Try printing poorly planned calendars at your own peril. Few things find the recycle bin faster than promotional materials that do not meet a customer's need. So, consider carefully when designing and calendar printing
.

Pictures
Pictures are of primary importance because they are what make your calendars unique and desirable. If you pick poor pictures, you can guarantee that your logo or your contact information will not stay in front of your customer. Know what your customers want. Picturesque landscapes, inspiring scenery, or high energy action: all of these are examples of things you could choose to build a calendar round. Whatever you choose, make sure you get the pictures right.

Dates
Calendars without dates are just posters. Typical calendar design puts the pictures on top with the dates on the bottom. Dates should include national holidays and typically start with Sunday as the first day of the week. Leave room so that your customers can write their own notes in spaces. And don't forget about the occasional leap-year!

Logo
You’re not giving away your calendar for free. While you are not asking for money, you are asking your customer to display your logo or other branding on your behalf. One of the biggest mistakes you could make would be to leave your logo off of the calendars. Of course, you do not want to overdo it, but foregoing a logo altogether would be a serious mistake.

Contact information
Finally, make sure your customers can get ahold of you quickly and easily. Consider putting your contact information along the bottom of the calendar, below the dates. Keep it basic: your company name, website, phone number, and an email address are the ideal pieces of contact information to include on your calendars. You never know when they may need your services, so make the process of contacting you as simple and painless as possible.
