Business cards. Flyers. Brochures. Cold-calling. They’ve all been over used and over done.
Are there any innovative ideas? Well, there are a few to choose from.
T-Shirts is common, but not overdone-especially when it comes to advertising YOUR business. Yes, there are logos and company’s names, but admit it. You do read T-shirts. Everyone does. It can be eye-catching.
Bumper Stickers. There are all kinds of bumper stickers. Political, religious, silly. There are a few out there with company’s logos. Again, why not put your logo on it?
Baseball caps. Not a bad choice. They are practical. People usually look at them to see what team you prefer. Catch them off guard! Put your company’s logo on it.
I do have a favorite. Advertise using labels. I know that you’re thinking
“labels are overused”. This is not necessarily true. You can put labels on just about anything: notebooks, boxes, doors, your car. (It’s true - that is basically what those magnets are on the sides of cars advertising someone ELSE’S business). In some genres, they may be overused, but if you get creative, they can be appealing and eye catching. It might be just the way to win a potential client over just by being a little different.
Here’s a really novel idea. How about putting your business label on a water bottle?
See, with T-shirts or caps, in order to make your advertising profitable, you would have to sell them to get your name out there. By using small, reasonably priced items with labels, you can give them away. For example, with a water bottle, they are inexpensive, easy to store or carry, and everyone uses them.
Any one of these ideas might take a little more energy, a little more initial investment than business cards, flyers, or brochures. However, if you’re business is needing a little “push” to get it moving again, you may want to consider doing something a little distinctive.
