From June 1 – November 30, Hurricane season disturbs the Atlantic Region. Affecting the entire eastern coast of the United States, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Caribbean and Eastern Mexico along with the states that border the Gulf of Mexico, traveling during this time is a gamble.

Typically, the worst times for storms in the Atlantic Region occur between August thru the end of October, which, if you take a look at vacation spots, Caribbean and Mexico are among the cheapest destinations to visit during these times. If these deals are just what you are looking for and spots that are prone for more hurricane activity making the price too good to pass up, then by all means, book the trip. Purchase trip insurance and do some research on the hurricane policies on the airlines/hotels/tour operators.

However, if you’re looking to avoid any threat of hurricanes, turn your attention to Caribbean islands that do not lie in the hurricane belt. Curacao is one of only a few islands in the Caribbean that fall outside of the hurricane belt. With more than 35 beautiful beaches, Curacao boasts some of the world’s top dive sites. A melting pot of diversity, this Dutch island is rich in history and culture making it one of the best travel spots in the Caribbean. Right now, deals are making this island a place to visit with free nights, hotel credits, buy one get one free tours, $100 rebates on airfare and so much more!

If you prefer to travel during the winter months in this region when there is no chance of hurricane, you might want to look at cruising as a possible vacation idea. Usually, cruising in the Caribbean during "high season" which means beautiful weather, holidays and no hurricanes means higher prices. But if you catch the prices before they start booking up, you will still get those "hurricane low prices". Cruising deals for 7 days in the Caribbean can run as little as $699; which translates into $100 per night for food, cruising and entertainment.

Save some money and get out of harms way.
