Jerusalem... it is one of the oldest cities in the world, and no-doubt a unique one.
Many people who come visit Jerusalem ask me for guidance and recommendations, so in this article I will specify those must see spots every christian traveller to Jerusalem must see:
1.The Gate of Dormizion - a catholic church built around year 1900. Christian belief is that Miriam - Jesus' mother, fell asleep here just before she passed away. On the site there is a monestry, a church, and a bell tower.
2.The Church of the Holy Sepulchre - this is the holiest church in Jerusalem, and the place where Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected. This is a complex of churches – all on top of the Golgotha Hil, which has been mentioned in the new Testament.
3.Monastery of Zion Sisters - According to a later tradition, Jesus was brought here after his trial, and it was here that Pontius Pilate presented him to the people.
4.The Cenaculum of the Last Supper - Where Jesus Christ celebrated the the Last Supper with his disciples.
5.Ethiopian Church - a colourful church built in the 19th century, with colorful carpets and paintings describing the Last Supper, tormented saints, King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, as well as African pictures, the main one being the black Baby Jesus.
Enjoy your visit to Jerusalem!
