Although pesticides have been linked to a number of health problems, we are nevertheless inundated with them on a daily basis. They're in our food, our garden, our air and our homes. Researchers have now discovered that, in addition to the other health problems pesticides pose, they can also increase our risk for diabetes. Find out how to eliminate pesticides through dietary and lifestyle changes and natural skin care.

What do pesticides do to the body? Different pesticides affect the body in different ways. Some go directly to the central nervous system, some cause dry skin or eczema that doesn't go away no matter what skin care products you use, and others can cause cancer. Now, with diabetes added to the list, it's imperative to get pesticides out of your life once and for all.

What steps can you take to eliminate pesticides?

Buy organic fruits, vegetables and grains grown with natural pest control methods. If you're lucky enough to have your own garden, it's well worth doing a little research into using plants and insects to keep your garden pest free. At the very least, if you don't have access to organic produce, make sure you wash your fruits and vegetables well before eating.

Eat organic meat and dairy whenever possible so you can avoid eating animal product from animals that have been fed grains and other substances grown with chemicals.

Use natural pest control methods to get rid of insects in and around the home. There are several non-toxic products available but, according to some experts, you might be better off not killing them at all. Natural substances that make ants and other insects sick instead of killing them send the right message when they arrive back at to the colony - stay away!! There's more info about these methods online.

Last, but not least by a long shot, is skin care. No matter what precautions you take, our air is filled with pesticides from the homes and gardens around us and from commercial growers. Some communities even have planes that fly overhead and spray everything - people in those environments may have fewer pest problems, but their health is at risk.

The best topical skin care product to protect you from chemical toxicity is a shielding lotion. A good shielding lotion bonds with the outer layer of the skin to form a new protective layer than keeps out chemicals. It was originally formulated for people who work with heavy hazardous chemicals day in and day out, but it's light and non-greasy and has a very light, natural scent. Thousands of doctors now recommend it for dry skin care, eczema treatment and other skin conditions.

Despite advances in medicine that enable us to live longer, we are sicker than we've ever been. And much of that is due to the pesticides and other chemicals in our lives. Take steps to change that now. The right diet, lifestyle and skin care treatment will improve your quality of life today, tomorrow and well into the future. And whatever else you do, don't forget the shielding lotion!
