One thing for sure about acne is that it is troublesome and can cause a great deal of embarrassment. There are many people who would prefer if the world left them alone, but there is no need to take this action as there are plenty of suitable products that are available. If you find that you need help you can speak to your doctor, a dermatologist or even turn to a support group if needed.
Overall there are just three types of skin care products, such as those that are there to prevent acne, also there are more specific over the counter products and finally there are the products that are available from your doctor only on prescription.
Your skin care routine should be active enough with the intention of making sure that acne is being prevented. Specific skin care products would include cleansers, toners, face masks and also exfoliating lotions. These generally work by controlling the amount of oils that the skin produces and help in making sure that the pores of the skin do not become clogged.
It is important that you do adopt a proactive approach to acne skin care rather than waiting for acne to develop, as it is much easier to prevent acne than it is in treating acne itself. You want to make sure that you are doing everything you possibly can to make sure that nothing can get trapped in the pores of the skin and so preventing the onslaught of acne.
Most of the products that are available are anti-bacterial and can be purchased over the counter or if your acne is severe then there are some prescription based treatments that your doctor could recommend. All products are designed to fight off bacteria but there can be some setbacks as the skin can become very dry.
Given that you are unique and so is your skin there is never one acne treatment that will work for everyone. It may take you several attempts before you find a product that is going to work for you. But you should never use more than one acne based treatment at any one time and you need to give any treatment at least a good two or three months to expect any kind of positive results.
If it is the case that what you are using is having no effect is just means that the products that you are using are having no effect, it does not mean that your acne is not treatable and therefore you should not get discouraged.
It may be to your advantage before you even consider using the popular acne treatments that you opt for acne based products that are natural. This has the advantage in that there will be fewer side effects, your skin will not become overly dry and most of the natural range of acne treatments use plant extracts known for there ability to heal and reduce inflammation that is common with having acne.
Plus make sure that you are eating a good diet, drinking lots of water, getting exercise and also making sure that you are getting outdoors in order to get some fresh air and sunshine, which is vital for your overall wellbeing.
