For years YTC Summit has been bringing us outstanding Fantasy and Medieval Decor and Collectibles products with their Summit Collection. This summer’s new releases in the Summit Collection are no exception. Once again Summits innovative and creative designs and craftsmanship stand out above the crowd.

The new Fantasy and Medieval additions are in their Dragons, Greenman, Grim Reaper, Knights, Maidens of Fantasy, and Skulls categories, as well as a new, and stunning, gothic ‘Mourning Angels’ collection. The new additions are primarily figurines, but also include some items such as votive and candle holders, as well as a pen holder, sandtimer, and jewelry boxes.

So why do we think Summit is so outstanding? Do to their imaginative and exciting sculptures. All their products are first sculpted by highly skilled and talented artisans, in extremely intricate detail. This is most evident in their Greenman collection, but is prevalent in all their collections. The items are then cast in cold cast resin, allowing them to capture the smallest detail while maintaining high quality at a lower cost, and thus passing the savings on to us. Each piece is then hand painted by highly skilled craftsmen, thus making each piece unique. These are all ingredients that add up to amazing and collectible works of art.

In their dragon figurines, their fierce new Water Dragon, colorful Quetzalcoatl Dragon, and multi eyed Volcano Dragon, to just name a few, took our breaths away. We found them to be innovative, bold, and mind blowing. Not only just in detail, but in color, and imagination as well. The Volcano Dragon for instance has three heads. Ok…we’ve seen that before, but…each head has four eyes. Bold move…yes, but it works, as does the dragon’s bright red body with yellow dorsal plates and flares. This gives us the illusion of the dragon being on fire.

On their Knight figurines…imagination and creativity, such as with the dragon figurines, is not looked for here. Style and historical accuracy is what is wanted, and that is precisely what we find. A fine example is their knight figurine in jousting armor, by armourer Lorenz Helmschmied, Augsburg, 1490 -1500, original on display at the Armoury of the dukes of Burgundy. As well as the Equestrian armor of Francis I, France, c. 1520, original on display at Musée de l'Armée, Paris, France. These are fine examples of Summit’s painstaking attention to historical accuracy, detail and the needs of the serious collector.

Hats off to YTC Summit and their Summit Collection, keep up the good work.
