the parents lap. The parent can play a kids game while

happening on the screen. Let the child choose the next
course of action in the game while the parent operates the
mouse or keyboard. At first the child will answer the
parent's questions or point at the monitor. After watching
for a while the child may begin to participate some of the
time by pressing keys on the keyboard. The mouse is
usually the last to be learned when precise selection or
dragging is required.


A new kid's game may require a great deal of parental help
to learn it. After some time with the parent's assistance
the child will be able to play alone and even initiate a
start-over of a familiar game. Even without knowing how to
read, a child will quickly learn where the play button is.
In time the child will be entertaining themselves with
kids' games online.
