Years of studying and hard work have finally paid off. Today, you stand proud with your head held high holding that diploma in hand looking forward to what life has to offer. This special occasion calls for a graduation party. It is the best occasion to prove yourself worthy and make your family and friends proud of you.
There are certain events in your life—high school or college graduation, your wedding, first day on the job that are real milestones in a person's life. A graduation party celebrates both a job well done and a very bright future. The key to a successful celebration is planning your graduation party so the graduate is the center of attention. Our themes, our graduation invitations, party favors and graduation decorations all focus on that single goal: making the graduate a star for a day.Everyone has a high school or college graduation party but increasingly we are seeing celebrations for kindergarten, junior high, trade schools, etc. these events are important also and there is no reason not to celebrate them!
Pick Your Style and Theme: The style and theme you select will help as you plan the other elements of your party. Here are some possible directions you could go: A formal dress-up party. Ask the kids and adults to come in formal attire and create formal place settings with linens, china, and elegant floral arrangements.A casual, flip-flop shoes only type of party. Let everyone be themselves in their most casual attire. Use paper goods, plastic serving ware and invite everyone to hang out for as long as they wish. Good-byes take a long time, and leaving a school requires a long good-bye party.
Choose a location: Now comes the fun part. There are so many neat options for locations: your backyard, a local park, a restaurant, a campground, a fancy hotel, an amusement park, or the beach. Who said a graduation party has to be a stuffy affair in grandma's dusty living room? You could even do a half-and-half party: let your parents have their ideal party for you and, if it's not what you want, spend the rest of the evening with your friends. Take a boat out onto the lake or go camping over the weekend. Celebrate!
If you are going to use a hall, park or restaurant, you’ll need to begin planning this while you’re picking a date. If you are going to use your home, jot down things you will need to rent like a tent or coffee machine.
Serving Alcoholic Beverages: Before making this decision be very aware of the legal risks associated with serving alcohol.Especially since you may have many guests that are under age. We strongly recommend recruiting a mature and responsible friend to tend bar. If you don’t have any mature and responsible friends, hire a professional bar tender for the party.
Get some help for party day. Whether it’s a sibling, spouse or hired helper, you will need lots of help on the day of the party. This is your child’s graduation party, you need to have time to enjoy the event as well. So I will repeat: Do not take on all of the responsibilities yourself.
