Many people with the fear of height would not consider buying a home or penthouse in a 37-story high- rise on San Francisco’s waterfront. However, Gurbaksh Chahal , who often goes with “G”, recently purchased a penthouse for $6.9 million in San Francisco.

San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the 14th most populous city in the United States. One of the most densely populated major American cities, San Francisco is part of the much larger San Francisco Bay Area containing 7.2 million people. The city is located on the tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, with the Pacific Ocean to the west, San Francisco Bay to the east, and the Golden Gate to the north.

Even though “G” can live anywhere, he prefers San Francisco for its cosmopolitan air, the business opportunities and its proximity to his family. Chahal recently moved from his hometown (San Jose) into a 37th story penthouse overlooking the San Francisco bay. The penthouse is hundred times more beautiful than one can even think it would be. Gurbaksh spent a reported $6.9 million on the space itself, then an additional $1 million in upgrades. He spent $250,000 just for the flooring. The place has amazing views at night, better than the daytime, because the views are just breathless. The bridge lights up and it’s almost like you see the entire world.”

To achieve his dream look – a mixture of Miami Vibe, Art Deco and Classicism with a touch of his Indian heritage thrown in, Chahal enlisted the help of professional interior designer. The home features floor-to-ceiling windows in every room. The living room is a study in white – white marble floor, white couch and white rug. A pool room features a bamboo floor. A dining room with the traditional table and chairs is framed by Classic Greek-style-columns decorated by lavish crystal.

Having completed what he calls the "survivor" and "career" phases of life, he found himself ready for something new, challenging and of benefit to others. Chahal's current projects include the completion of a book titled "The Dream" to be published by Palgrave-Macmillan as well as an upcoming network reality TV show debuting in fall.
