The Zone diet is a diet program that pays close attention to calorie intake and physical activity to deliver results. It is a lifestyle plan to help people lose pounds and become physically fit. The main aspect of this diet plan is the set of eating guidelines developed by the biochemist named Barry Sears.

The scientific reasoning behind the diet focuses on the effect of carbohydrates on the body's insulin levels. Eating too many carbohydrates causes blood sugar levels to rise sharply, which prompts the body to produce insulin, a hormone that lowers blood sugar levels by storing the sugar as fat. It is thought that by consuming the right foods, blood sugar levels can be controlled to keep insulin levels in "the zone," a range where the body burns more fat and stops storing excessive fat.

The plan balances protein and carbohydrate consumption in a 3:4 ratio, meaning 30% of your calories will come from protein and 40% from carbohydrates (another 30% typically comes from fat). It is important to keep track of calories on the Zone plan, with most meals under five hundred calories each and snacks around one hundred calories each.

Under the eating plan, you eat five times a day (three meals and two snacks), never going more than five hours without consuming food. If you sleep eight hours per night, this means taking breakfast within one hour of getting out of bed, lunch within five hours of breakfast, a snack within five hours of lunch, dinner within two or three hours of your snack, and a final snack right before going to bed.

The majority of foods consumed on the Zone program include lean meats, such as chicken or fish and other sources of protein, lots of fruits and vegetables, and a small amount of carbohydrates. Rice, cereals, breads, potatoes, and sugar are the types of carb rich foods that dieters should avoid eating, but can eat once in awhile. Dieters must also try not to eat processed foods and high sodium foods.

Exercise is another fundamental part of the Zone diet. The plan recommends moderate intensity exercise for thirty minutes per day, six days per week. Physical activity is supposed to enhance the effectiveness of the Zone diet plan. Other enhancements to the diet include taking vitamins and nutritional supplements.

The Zone plan is effective for many dieters, but it takes a big commitment. The reason why this diet and most other diet plans fail is because many dieters stop before they are able to see improvement. Many people struggle to stay on any type of diet because of cravings, uncontrollable appetites or eating habits, or a lack the motivation to lose weight. Weight loss hypnotherapy is ideal for solving these problems and supplying the motivation to stick to a diet like the Zone diet program.

Hypnotherapy is frequently used in combination with dieting because it does many things to increase the effectiveness and success rate of diets. Among the many things that hypnosis programs do is help promote positive thinking, especially to counter negative thoughts. Hypnotherapy is a powerful stress-relieving tool as well, helping us cope with our stressful emotions and relieve tension. As a stress-relieving tool, it eases the mind, helps you come up with strategies to handle stress, and increases your self-confidence to motivate you to lose weight.

Weight loss hypnosis can also be used to directly treat the mental obstacles that keep people from losing weight. Take for instance dieters who cannot control their food cravings and appetite because they have a problem with "emotional eating." People who are emotional eaters compulsively consume food in response to their feelings, such as when they are sad or depressed. A good hypnosis CD program can break the bonds in our unconscious minds between eating and our feelings. This way, people do not have to struggle with overeating and are able to stay committed to complex weight loss programs such as the Zone diet.

Motivational weight loss CDs have become a popular and effective weight loss aid to use with diet programs because motivation is the key to success for most people. Hypnotherapy programs tap into the power of the unconscious mind to naturally train our thoughts on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. These programs help people explore their reasons for wanting to lose weight and exercise so dieters naturally feel motivated to stay with their diet.

Hypnosis is a strong motivational tool that will help you "stay in the zone," get physically fit, and experience natural weight loss. Through using hypnosis, we can think more positively and focus on improving our health.
