Congress leader announced that they would give Tax Rebate of $600-$1200 and more, if they have children. They are thinking to start economic stimulus package after negotiation with republican leader. The agreement got the appreciation for being of right size and right set of policies by US president George Bush.

More: The rebates for 116 million families, had appealed both Democrats and Republicans. Pelosi's staff evaluated to include checks of 28 billion dollar to 35 million families to whom no help was provided by the previous proposal declared by Bush. It also pleased Republicans as they also got heavy rebate- greater than 70 percent, as calculated by congress tax committee.

Individuals paying income taxes would get the rebate up to $600, working couples up to $1,200 and couples with children will get an additional rebate of $300 per child according to the norms of the agreement. Workers who don’t pay takes but earn at least $3,000 would get rebate of $300.

The rebates would cost about $100 billion. The package includes reduction of 50 billion dollars in business tax.

More details: The package shall soon permit businessmen to immediately write off purchases up to 50 percent on plants and capital equipment and allow small businessmen to write off an additional purchase of equipments.

The rebates will be helpful for individuals whose income is greater than $75,000 and those couples whose income is above $150,000. Partial rebates would be given to individuals with incomes up to $87,000 and couples with income up to $174,000.

Labor unions were upset regarding the proposals as boost food stamps and the unemployment had not been given any importance. Labor union along with liberal activist drew fire against the proposal.
