People with acne frequently have a variety of acne lesions. The common acne lesion, called as comedo (comedone), is fundamentally an extended hair follicle conserved with bacteria and oil. This type of lesion is commonly known as a microcomedo (whitehead or comedo) when the plugged follicle leftovers under the skin. Whiteheads frequently show on the outside of skin as little, whitish bumps. A comedo that comes up to the skin and breaks open is known as blackhead since it appears black. Whiteheads and blackheads can stay for a long time in the skin.
Types of acne
Whiteheads: when a pore is totally blocked, trapping sebum (oil), bacteria, and dead skin cells, causing a whitehead outward show. These types of acne lesions sometimes seem to be begging to be popped. Whiteheads are usually more rapidly in life cycle than blackheads.
Blackheads: when a pore is simply blocked (to some extent), allow some of the trapped sebum (oil), bacteria, and dead skin cells to gradually drain to the surface. To a certain extent, it is a reaction of the skin's own pigment, melanin, reacting with the oxygen in the air.
Papules: Papules are looking red, tender bumps with no head. Do not press a papule. It will do no fine, and might worsen scarring.
Pustules: Pustules is like to a whitehead, but is reddened, and appear as a red circle with a white or yellow center.
Causes of Acne
- Hormones are the number one reason of acne which is the creation of sex hormones called as androgen that begins at puberty. This completely describes majority of acne wounded are adolescents. Hormones are the major player for acne flare-ups during the times of menstruation and pregnancy.
