One thing that you may have figured out already, is that when you buy a pool you also have to buy a lot of other things that go with it, a pool cleaner being one of them. In years past, the selection process for choosing what pool cleaner that a person was going to be using was far more easier, simply due to the fact that there far fewer to choose from. Times have changed however, and now with all of the technological advancements that have been made in pool cleaners, choosing which one to use can be a very difficult decision to make.
Three Basic Types
Pool cleaners come in three basic forms. Those are suction side, pressure side and mechanical. Simply put, a suction side pool cleaner is connected to a suction hose from the pool pump. A pressure side pool pump is connected to a pressure hose from the pool pump and a mechanical pool cleaner is powered by electricity.
No Moving Parts
A pressure side pool cleaner will tend to have more moving parts and often it will move about the bottom of the pool in some way. On the other hand, a suction side pool cleaner will often have no moving parts and if it moves around the bottom of the pool will do so very slowly. Suction side pool cleaners are those inexpensive models that you see being advertised as having no moving parts.
Rotating Scrub Brushes
Mechanical pool cleaners come in a wide variety of styles and sizes. Also, they are available with any number of feature options as well. If you have a built in cement lined pool than you may want to consider purchasing and using a mechanical pool cleaner that features rotating scrub brushes that clean the sides of the pool.
Complete Above Ground Pool Kits
If however, you are thinking of purchasing an above ground pool with a vinyl pool liner, you may want to give serious consideration to purchasing a complete pool kit that comes with everything you need, including an automatic pool cleaner that is the perfect type and size for the pool that you are buying.
