Toners are used in laser printers and photocopier machines. It is a powder which helps these machines to form the text and pictures on the paper being printed. Laser printers use cartridges which contain a photoreceptor or photoconductor unit along with supply toner & waste toner bottles along with various wiper blades. These cartridges are generally known as Toner Cartridges.
While printing on a laser printer, some printers provide the facility to set the Toner Saving mode. In case of printing of a document which is only a draft, Toner saving mode could be set to 'High', thus producing lightest printing. In case of printing a document which would be used internally, Toner saving could be set to 'Medium' producing prints with medium darkness. If this option is set to 'None', document will be printed with maximum darkness. As the darkness of printing increases, consumption of Toner increases. By using this option of the printer properly as per requirement of printing, consumption of Toner could be reduced.
In case of color Laser Printer, using Black and White mode while printing test outputs will also save on Toners. Set the printer to color mode for printing your final output.
For users of HP Laser Jet 3200 Printer, the manufacturer suggests that the life of Toner Cartridge of this printer could be increased either by redistributing toner or using Printer's EconoMode setting for printing draft documents.
When noticeable deterioration is seen in printing quality, this could be improved temporarily by redistributing the remaining toners inside the cartridge. For doing this, the cartridge is taken out of the machine and print cartridge is shaken from side to side about 2 times per second so that toner gets distributed evenly inside the cartridge. Thereafter, the cartridge is put back into the machine.
Another way of increasing the life of your Toner Cartridge could be by going for refilling of the cartridge. It will be quite cheap to go for refilled cartridges instead of purchasing new cartridges from the printer manufacturer. Of course, the printer manufacturers always claim that using their original Toner Cartridge in the printer would produce better printing quality.
One way to overcome this problem of quality of refilled cartridges would be to contact already well established suppliers in this field who would guarantee the quality of his product.
You could also look for a suitable supplier for refilled cartridges by searching the internet.
Before using cartridges supplied by a new supplier whose product you are going to use for the first time, you should get their answer to a few questions. Those reputable vendors who advertise their product on the internet would generally provide all the details about the manufacturer of ink used in their product along with their contact details.
You should also ensure that these suppliers are inspecting these cartridges thoroughly before they are refilling it. They should also check for cracks and the electrical condition of these cartridges before refilling.
