GAS PRICES SOAR AND SO DOES VANDALISM

                                                                                         

On my previous post I wrote about gas pump theft at an all time high and things being done about it. Well here is a new kind of vandalism happening that affects all of us who are not gas station owners.

Some of you may have already heard this new way thieves are getting free gas, but for those of you that haven't here it is. I would read this because it involves you, your vehicle and your pocket book.

Some thieves have now taken to drilling peoples gas tanks and draining the gas that way. Isn't that just absolutely wonderful not to mention what jerk came up with this and thought it was a safe thing to do? Come on, now you are taking gas from people that are paying these gosh awful prices stealing it from them and then on top of all that they are now having to pay to get their fuel tank replaced.

Mechanics are saying in different parts of the country that they are getting more and more calls on this and appointments to replace peoples fuel tanks and noticing they have been drilled. Police have reported a sky rocket of these kinds of calls, because of the vandalism.

I really do not have any wonderful suggestions on this, because if you don't have a garage to pull your vehicle into or an alarm on your vehicle, like we don't, I really do not know what to say.

I will say this though to all you gas thieves out there, I would be very very careful. Since gas prices are high and only going to get worse, that makes gas like gold. I would had to think what would happen if you get caught by the owner in which vehicle you are draining his/her gas. The cops might start getting a sky rocket of different kinds of calls.
